Paving Spanish Lake from the base up

Two rivers box this place in. The Mississippi lies to the east and the Missouri to the north, with Highway 367 on the west and I-270 to the south. It was farm ground before it was neighborhoods, and the name goes back to Spanish troops posted here in 1768.

Driveways and parking lots are the bulk of the work. Lewis and Clark Boulevard, Bellefontaine Road and Larimore Road carry the commercial traffic, and lots along them take delivery trucks all week. Residential drives run shorter and need clean edges and a grade that keeps water off the garage apron. Both get base rock compacted in layers. Free estimates, and you get 25% off.

Driveway paving in Spanish Lake

Drives here range from postwar subdivision runs to longer ones on the larger old lots that never got subdivided. The short ones need a rebuilt apron and a grade that moves water to the street. The long ones need a culvert that actually works and a base that will not soften. Both typically finish at 2 to 3 inches of compacted hot mix over properly compacted rock.

Parking lot paving in Spanish Lake

Lots along Lewis and Clark Boulevard and Bellefontaine Road handle delivery trucks, and the institutional buildings in the area bring their own heavy traffic. We size the base for the loaded vehicle, slope the surface toward planned outlets, and set entrances so trucks turning off a busy road are not riding across the pavement edge.

Road construction & private roads

Private drives serving apartment property, church campuses and back-of-building access get a road section: graded subgrade, crown, rock compacted in lifts and asphalt sized for the trucks. Where a private drive ties to Bellefontaine Road or Spanish Pond Road, that joint gets built heavier because it takes the most abuse.

General asphalt paving & repair

Beyond driveways and lots, we handle the everyday asphalt work around Spanish Lake: overlays on sound pavement, full-depth patches where the base gave out, walking paths, sport courts and shop aprons. You get a straight answer on whether to repair or replace.

Built for Spanish Lake's ground

Ground near the confluence runs from river bottom to loess upland, and the county soil survey lists low strength and frost action on many upland soils, recommending adequate base material plus ditches and culverts. Low ground near the rivers holds water longer still. Getting runoff off the surface and out of the base is the work that lasts.

A cheap bid usually gets cheap somewhere you cannot see. Ask what depth of stone goes down, how thick the asphalt is after rolling, and who fixes it if water still stands.

Compacted asphaltTypically 2 to 3 in. for a car drive
Stone baseTypically 4 to 8 in., compacted
Drive on itUsually 2 to 3 days, longer in heat
First sealcoatTypically 6 to 12 months after paving

Typical ranges. Your Spanish Lake estimate is sized to the soil, the traffic and the drainage on your property.

Spanish Lake paving questions

Straight answers for Spanish Lake homeowners and property managers. Anything else, call (866) 490-7680.

Does being near the rivers change how a drive is built?

It can. Lower ground near the Mississippi and Missouri drains more slowly, so the base may need to be deeper and the surface pitched harder to move water off. We check how the site drains during the free estimate, before pricing the job.

Can you pave a large church or institutional lot?

Yes. Larger lots get planned around traffic flow, loading points and drainage together, and the work is usually staged so part of the parking stays open. The base is sized for buses and delivery trucks at the points where they actually run.

Can you pave over my old asphalt?

Sometimes. If the base under your Spanish Lake pavement is still solid and the surface only has shallow cracking, an overlay can work well. If the pavement is sinking, rutting or breaking into alligator cracks, the base has failed and it needs to be rebuilt first. The free estimate is where we sort that out.

Does my HOA need to approve the work?

Some Spanish Lake subdivisions have rules about materials, width or how long equipment can sit on the street. Check with your HOA before you schedule, and we will work the timing around whatever they require.
